The President exchanged greetings with dignitaries before making his way to a waiting Nigerian Air Force aircraft.
As he ascended the aircraft via a red-carpeted staircase, military personnel in both combat gear and ceremonial attire rendered salutes ahead of takeoff.
Originally scheduled for Saturday, the trip will begin with engagements in France, after which Tinubu will head to Nairobi, Kenya, for the Africa-France Summit, jointly hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.
In a statement issued on Friday, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that Tinubu will participate in the summit in Nairobi.
The meeting, slated for May 11 to 12, will address key themes such as energy transition, digital innovation, and climate action.
The statement noted that Tinubu’s presence will highlight Nigeria’s commitment to deepening partnerships with African countries and France.
Following the Kenya visit, the President is expected to travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to 15.
The forum, organised in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation, will bring together policymakers and business leaders to explore opportunities for economic expansion and investment across Africa.
According to the statement, Tinubu will present his administration’s reform agenda aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading destination for investment and growth.
He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with prominent African and global business figures.
The President will be accompanied by selected ministers and senior aides and is expected to return to Nigeria after completing his engagements in Rwanda.
