Vice President Kashim Shettima departed Abuja on Sunday for Freetown, Sierra Leone, where he will represent President Bola Tinubu at the 69th Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Shettima will join fellow Heads of State, government officials, business leaders, and key stakeholders from across West Africa and beyond for the high-level regional gathering.

The summit is set to hold on Sunday, July 19, at the Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre in Freetown.
According to NAN, discussions will center on major policy issues, the adoption of strategic resolutions, and strengthening the region’s commitment to peace, democratic governance, economic development, and deeper regional cooperation.
The meeting will also bring together ministers, senior government officials, and representatives of regional institutions to deliberate on shared priorities, including security, trade, economic integration, and sustainable development across the ECOWAS region.
Shettima is expected to return to Abuja after completing his official engagements in Sierra Leone.
