The Nigerian Air Force has announced the killing of several terrorists and the disruption of a planned attack in parts of Niger State through coordinated intelligence-driven operations.
This was disclosed on Monday in Abuja by the spokesperson for the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.

According to him, the operations were conducted by the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma Sector 1 between May 20 and May 23 in Rafi and Mariga Local Government Areas of the state.
Ejodame explained that on May 20, security intelligence revealed the movement and gathering of terrorists around Tungan Bako and Kasuwan Daji in Rafi LGA, prompting a joint offensive by the Air Component and the Nigerian Army Space Command Regiment.
“The coordinated precision air strikes successfully neutralised several terrorists and disrupted their preparations for further attacks,” he said.
He added that on May 21, air surveillance spotted armed terrorists travelling on motorcycles and moving with stolen cattle from Tungunguna towards Uregi.
According to him, the air strikes eliminated the fighters and crippled their mobility and escape routes.
Ejodame further stated that later the same day, air support was deployed to assist troops battling terrorists at Tungan Makeri.
“The operation forced the attackers to retreat and restored the advantage to friendly ground forces,” he added.
