A powerful windstorm has swept through several communities in Suru Local Government Area, leaving widespread destruction and damaging property valued at millions of naira.
The affected communities include Sambera, Jeroki, Becinga, Nassarawa, Tunga Soja, Tauken Mage, Tunga Muminu Oro, and Ciwan Wanzam.

The storm, which struck on Wednesday night, reportedly destroyed many residential buildings, food storage facilities, and other valuable belongings. Residents confirmed, however, that no fatalities were recorded.
The lawmaker representing Suru Constituency in the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Faruku Abubakar Maisudan, visited the affected areas to inspect the extent of the damage and sympathise with victims.
During the visit, he expressed sympathy to residents and encouraged them to remain steadfast despite the hardship caused by the disaster.
Maisudan assured victims that he would escalate the matter to the State House of Assembly and Governor Nasir Idris to ensure swift assistance for those affected.
He pledged to present the situation before the relevant authorities so that urgent relief could be provided without delay.
Officials of the Kebbi State Emergency Management Agency accompanied the lawmaker on the assessment tour and also promised prompt intervention.
A SEMA official stated that the state government would soon distribute relief materials to ease the suffering of victims impacted by the disaster
