At least 13 people have reportedly lost their lives following a deadly attack by armed men on Ngbra Zongo community in Kwall District of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.
Several others were said to have sustained injuries during the assault, which occurred in the early hours of Friday.

A resident of the community, Philip Alanga, told journalists in Jos that the attackers invaded the area around midnight, opening fire indiscriminately and attacking residents with machetes and other dangerous weapons.
According to him, the gunmen reportedly moved from one house to another, leaving residents terrified and scrambling for safety.
Alanga said the attackers stormed the community around 12 a.m., shooting sporadically and killing residents during the raid.
He added that many people sustained injuries, while several families fled into nearby bushes to escape the violence.
Another resident, Chigoji Rocku, disclosed that three pregnant women were among those killed in the attack.
The Secretary General of the Irigwe Development Association, Danjuma Auta, also confirmed the incident, describing the killings as unfortunate and condemnable.
Auta decried the repeated attacks on communities in Bassa Local Government Area and other parts of Plateau State, urging security agencies to strengthen efforts to safeguard lives and property, particularly in vulnerable rural areas.
He further called on security operatives to urgently apprehend those behind the attack and ensure they are brought to justice to prevent further violence.
Attempts to get a reaction from the spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, Alfred Alabo, were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
