The New Nigeria Peoples Party has extended the deadline for the sale of nomination forms for the 2027 general elections by an additional one week.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party had earlier scheduled May 10 as the commencement date for the sale of forms to interested aspirants.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday in Lagos by the party’s Secretary-General, Ogini Olaposi.
According to Olaposi, the extension followed a directive from the party’s Board of Trustees to the National Working Committee (NWC), which was approved by the NNPP founder, Boniface Aniebonam.
He explained that the decision became necessary due to delays by the Independent National Electoral Commission in uploading the logo of the faction recognised by the party leadership under Agbo Gilbert Major.
Olaposi stated that the new deadline for the collection and submission of nomination forms has now been moved to May 17.
He also announced the approved fees for aspirants seeking various elective positions.
According to him, the presidential nomination form costs N5 million, governorship forms are pegged at N2.5 million, senatorial forms at N1.5 million, House of Representatives forms at N1 million, while House of Assembly forms will cost N500,000.
He added that women and persons living with disabilities would receive nomination forms free of charge.
The NNPP official further stated that all elected party officials seeking re-election would be granted automatic tickets after purchasing the required forms.
He noted that the screening exercise for aspirants would still hold on the dates earlier announced by the party.
Olaposi urged aspirants to remain patient despite the delay involving INEC, expressing confidence that the matter would soon be resolved.
He also revealed that the party’s Board of Trustees had directed members of the National Working Committee to intensify efforts toward ensuring that the NNPP fields candidates for all elective positions in the 2027 general elections.
