The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has launched its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for entry-level vacancies across Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10 and 12.
According to a notice published on the commission’s website, the application portal became active on Monday, July 20, and will remain open until Monday, July 27.

INEC said the recruitment is part of efforts to strengthen its workforce in key areas such as election administration, voter registration, data management and electoral logistics to enhance the delivery of its constitutional responsibilities.
Interested candidates are required to complete their applications online by creating an account on the recruitment portal, filling out the application form and uploading the necessary documents.
The commission emphasised that the application process is completely free and cautioned applicants against submitting false information or forged credentials, warning that anyone found culpable would be disqualified and could face legal action.
Available vacancies
The recruitment is divided into three categories:
Professional Cadre Grade Levels 09, 10 and 12
Vacancies are available for:
* Accountant
* Clinical Officer
* Lawyer
* ICT Officer
* Engineer
* Quantity Surveyor
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognised institution. Some positions may also require a master’s degree in the relevant discipline.
Candidates are expected to hold relevant professional licences or certifications, including NBA, COREN, NSE, NIQS, ICAN, ANAN or CPN, where applicable. They must also have at least two years of post-qualification experience, an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, and demonstrate strong analytical, communication, problem-solving and ICT skills.
Administrative Officer II Registration Area Officer – Grade Level 08
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma HND or an equivalent qualification in the Social Sciences, Humanities or Sciences from a recognised institution.
They must also present an NYSC discharge, exemption or exclusion certificate, have sound knowledge of data management and record keeping, and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other ICT tools.
Executive Officer Registration Officer – Grade Level 07
Candidates are required to possess a National Certificate in Education NCE or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution. They should also have basic computer skills, experience in data handling, and good communication and organisational abilities.
General eligibility requirements
Applicants must:
* Provide a valid certificate of state of origin signed by the chairman or secretary of their local government.
* Be certified medically fit, both physically and mentally, by a government medical officer.
* Be no older than 35 years at the time of application.
* Have no criminal record.
* Be willing to work in any part of Nigeria.
* Demonstrate integrity, discipline and commitment to public service.

1. Visit INEC recruitment portal: https://recruitment.inecnigeria.org/.
2. Create an account using their personal information, email address and National Identification Number NIN.
3. Verify their email address.
4. Log in and select their preferred cadre and available position.
5. Upload all required documents, including a passport photograph, birth certificate or declaration of age, O’Level result, degree/HND/ND/NCE certificate, local government identification certificate and NYSC certificate where applicable.
6. Review the application carefully before submitting it online.
INEC noted that applicants cannot change their selected vacancy after submission. The commission also stated that only candidates who are shortlisted will proceed to the next stage of the recruitment exercise.
