A Nigerian doctor based in Canada, Arinze Onwumelu, has called on singer Portable to undergo a brain scan after his intense celebrity boxing clash with skit maker Carter Efe.
The highly charged bout, held over the weekend in Lagos, ended with Portable suffering defeat.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the fight drew widespread attention from fans and public figures, sparking conversations online after the ‘Zazuu’ crooner lost.
In a viral video shared on social media and reviewed on Monday, Onwumelu—also known as Dr Zo—recommended that Portable undergo a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan to check for possible internal injuries from the encounter.
He explained that Carter Efe landed several punches to delicate areas of Portable’s head, raising concerns about a potential subdural haematoma, a serious medical condition.
“This was meant to be an exhibition match for entertainment, not a brutal fight. Participants are not expected to go that far,” he said.
“I watched the footage, and the level of impact from those punches could have lasting effects. Anyone close to Portable should ensure he gets proper medical evaluation, including an MRI, as there could be internal damage.”
The doctor also urged organisers of such events to make protective gear, especially headguards, compulsory to reduce the risk of head injuries.
Before the match, Portable had expressed confidence in his fitness and ability to win, having previously defeated Speed Darlington and Charles Okocha in earlier celebrity boxing contests.
