Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen marked his return to derby action in emphatic fashion, scoring as Galatasaray overpowered Fenerbahçe 3-0 in the Intercontinental Derby to extend their lead at the top of the Super Lig to seven points.
Osimhen had been out for about 35 days after sustaining a fractured right forearm during Galatasaray’s Champions League encounter with Liverpool on 18 March. Initial medical reports suggested a recovery period of five to six weeks.

However, he made an earlier-than-expected comeback on 22 April, featuring as a substitute for roughly 12–17 minutes against Gençlerbirliği before stepping into the spotlight in Turkish football’s biggest rivalry.
In yesterday’s clash with Fenerbahçe, he opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a calm finish inside the penalty area his 13th league goal of the season setting the tone for a dominant display. Galatasaray went on to seal a comprehensive victory, deepening the disappointment for their arch-rivals.
With three matches left in the regular season, Galatasaray remain firmly in control of the title race, sitting on 74 points from 31 games and closing in on a fourth straight Super Lig championship.
