U.S. President Donald Trump has referenced an alleged threat from Iran after reports emerged that Israeli intelligence recently warned the United States about a possible assassination plot targeting him.
Citing two sources familiar with the matter, Israeli intelligence shared information with U.S. officials about what it described as a new plan to assassinate President Trump. One source said the warning was delivered this week, while another said U.S. intelligence agencies had already been monitoring a steady stream of intelligence in recent weeks indicating potential threats against the president. The Israeli alert, however, reportedly pointed to a more specific plot.

The exact details of the alleged plan were not immediately available, and it remains unclear whether U.S. intelligence agencies had independently uncovered the same threat before receiving Israel’s warning.
Trump appeared to allude to the reported threat on Tuesday when he was asked why he departed the NATO summit aboard the older Air Force One after arriving on the newer aircraft.
Responding to questions about speculation that security concerns influenced his decision, Trump said the life of a U.S. president is “very dangerous” and claimed he is “number one on the kill list for Iran.” He, however, dismissed suggestions that the aircraft change was linked to security concerns, insisting the newer Air Force One was simply not ready for use.
