Also among those who visited the President were members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum led by its Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Oyo State, including the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli; as well as APC candidates for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly from Lagos State.
On Monday, President Tinubu attended the International Fleet Review held at the Eko Atlantic City Waterfront as part of events marking the 70th anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Navy.
During the ceremony, he commissioned three naval vessels — NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila and NNS Gurara.
The President also held talks with the President of the Republic of Benin, Romuald Wadagni, in a meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations, regional collaboration and economic cooperation between both neighbouring countries.
Prior to the Eid-el-Kabir festivities, Tinubu had travelled to Lagos to take part in the APC primaries for the selection of candidates for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship and presidential elections.
The President cast his vote during his own primary election in Lagos and later secured an overwhelming nationwide endorsement, reportedly receiving support from nearly 11 million party members to emerge as the APC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
