Over 3,000 party delegates have gathered at the Rainbow Event Centre in Garki, Abuja, for the exercise.
According to reports by the News Agency of Nigeria, participants arrived from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, dressed in vibrant outfits that reflected both unity and diversity within the party.

Security operatives were said to have carried out detailed checks on attendees before allowing entry, as the accreditation process got underway under the supervision of the sub-committee led by Austin Akobundu.
Speaking on the arrangements, the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, noted that the number of delegates assigned to each state was based on population size to guarantee fair representation during the convention.
However, Idigo expressed concern over the difficulties encountered in securing a suitable venue. He alleged that several private facility owners turned down the party’s requests due to what he described as pressure and intimidation.
He explained that attempts to secure the Eagle Square yielded no response, while a request to use the Velodrome at the National Stadium was rejected without any reason.
He added that multiple approaches to hotels and event centres were unsuccessful, as many declined once they realised the booking was for the ADC, citing fear of potential consequences.
Idigo further revealed that even the Rainbow Event Centre initially considered withdrawing from the arrangement following alleged threats, but the party proceeded after making payments.
He questioned why businesses in Nigeria are unable to operate independently without interference, stressing that such situations result in financial setbacks for private operators.
He added that the convention is expected to round off the party’s congresses, approve a new constitution, and pave the way for its primary elections.
