Governor Seyi Makinde has imposed a 16-hour curfew across 10 local government areas in Oyo State following the recent school kidnapping incident.
The restriction, announced through a memo signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Musibau Babatunde, will take effect from today.

The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, disclosed the development in a statement issued in Ibadan.
According to the government, the curfew will run daily from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and will remain in force for an initial period of 48 hours.
The measure affects local government areas located around the Old Oyo National Park.
The affected councils are: Oriire, Orelope, Irepo, Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Olorunsogo and Atiba.
State authorities said the directive is aimed at strengthening security and supporting ongoing efforts to address the situation in the affected areas.
