The Oyo State Government has pulled down a three-bedroom bungalow located in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road corridor in Ibadan, following allegations that the property served as a hideout for kidnappers involved in the abduction of a relative of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu.
The demolition exercise was carried out on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, with security support provided by officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the state government, the operation formed part of ongoing measures aimed at curbing kidnapping and other forms of criminal activity across the state.
Authorities alleged that the building was used by the criminal gang responsible for the kidnapping of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.
The victims were reportedly abducted on June 3, 2026, at Elewura in the Challenge area of Ibadan, triggering intensified security efforts to track down those responsible.
Government officials said the demolition demonstrates the administration’s determination to confront insecurity and dismantle facilities believed to be supporting criminal operations within Oyo State.
The state further reaffirmed its commitment to identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting individuals involved in criminal activities, while also taking action against properties and infrastructure allegedly used to facilitate such offences.
According to the government, the move sends a clear message that criminal elements and their support networks will not be allowed to operate freely within the state.
