Omowunmi Aloba, widow of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has alleged that her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, is expecting the DNA test involving her son to show a negative outcome.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television that has since gained attention online, Omowunmi claimed tensions between both families existed long before the singer’s death and were rooted in domestic disagreements.

She explained that their relationship reportedly changed after the birth of her son, Liam, citing disputes surrounding the child’s naming ceremony and unresolved family issues.
According to her, the situation worsened after Mohbad reconciled with his mother, turning what began as a private family disagreement into a much larger conflict.
Omowunmi said many people wrongly believe the feud only started after the singer’s death, insisting the problems had existed beforehand.
She also alleged that shortly after Mohbad died, her father-in-law focused conversations on the late singer’s assets and royalties rather than offering emotional support.
The widow further claimed that Joseph Aloba’s real intention is for the DNA result to disprove Liam’s paternity, adding that such an outcome would never happen.
She stated that the dispute has now escalated beyond the point where reconciliation appears possible.
Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27 under controversial circumstances that sparked nationwide outrage, protests, and multiple investigations.
Since his death, legal disputes over DNA testing, inheritance, royalties, and the circumstances surrounding his passing have continued, while his body was earlier exhumed for autopsy following public demands for justice.
Joseph Aloba has repeatedly maintained that a DNA test must be conducted before the late singer is buried, while Omowunmi insists she has never opposed the test and maintains that Liam is Mohbad’s biological child.
