The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved the release of 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results that were earlier placed on hold over suspected examination malpractice, while investigations continue into other flagged cases.
According to the board, the decision followed a thorough reassessment of candidates whose results were initially suspended during and after the examination exercise.

JAMB explained that some results were cleared after investigations showed no prima facie evidence of wrongdoing, while others remain cancelled where malpractice was clearly established.
In a statement issued by its Public Communication Adviser, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the board said results from centres under heightened surveillance or linked to irregularities by its monitoring systems are still being reviewed.
The statement further warned that candidates found guilty after ongoing investigations will have their results withdrawn.
“The release follows ongoing investigations into cases of suspected examination malpractice. While some results have been outrightly cancelled where evidence of malpractice was established, others have been released where the Board found no prima facie case against the affected candidates,” the statement noted.
JAMB also advised candidates whose results are still pending to check their status by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during registration.
The board reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the integrity of the UTME and strengthening efforts to curb examination fraud across the country.
