Armed men on Tuesday stormed Government Secondary School, Odo-Ekina, in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, kidnapping four students, the school principal, and a National Examinations Council (NECO) ad hoc official.
The incident reportedly took place around 5:25 p.m. while candidates were sitting for their NECO examination, the Kogi State Police Command confirmed.

Security sources revealed that a joint team of police officers and other security operatives has commenced a search-and-rescue mission to locate the victims and bring them back safely.
Confirming the attack, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat, disclosed that one of the abducted students has been rescued. She added that efforts are continuing to free the remaining captives and track down those responsible for the abduction.
According to her, the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, accompanied by the Brigade Commander and the State Security Adviser to the Governor, retired Commodore Jerry Omodara, is heading to the school for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation.
The police also stated that a comprehensive update will be released as more verified details emerge from the ongoing investigation.
