According to the statement, Governor Adeleke met with members of the Accord Party’s national leadership on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, where they held extensive discussions on issues affecting the party and its future direction.
During the meeting, the party’s leadership stressed the importance of allowing the Tinubu administration to complete key national infrastructure projects. They specifically highlighted ongoing initiatives such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway as legacy projects that should be brought to completion.
The meeting also focused on preparations for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026, in which Governor Adeleke is seeking a second term on the platform of the Accord Party.
Olajengbesi said party leaders urged stakeholders and supporters to ensure the election remains peaceful, warning against violence, voter intimidation, electoral malpractice, and the misuse of security agencies for partisan purposes.
Those who attended the meeting included the National Chairman of the Accord Party, Maxwell Mgbudem; the National Secretary, Ajaja Abiola Adebukola; the Deputy National Chairman, Maryam Sale; as well as state chairmen from across the country.
