West Africa’s leading carrier, Air Peace, has announced a temporary disruption to its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick flight following the detection of a technical issue.
In a statement issued by the airline’s management, Air Peace explained that a routine inspection carried out after passengers had boarded revealed a minor fault on the aircraft that required urgent attention.

The airline said the aircraft was immediately withdrawn from operation in line with safety procedures, while passengers were safely disembarked.
According to the statement, affected travellers were promptly informed of the situation and provided with assistance, including hotel accommodation and other support measures to ease their inconvenience.
“Air Peace wishes to sincerely inform our esteemed passengers and the general public of a temporary disruption to today’s Lagos–London Gatwick service,” the statement read.
It added, “Following passenger boarding, a routine technical assessment identified a minor issue that required immediate corrective action. In keeping with our strict safety standards and global aviation regulations, the aircraft was withdrawn from service and passengers safely disembarked.”
The airline further disclosed that arrangements had been made to reduce delays, with a replacement aircraft expected from London to operate the flight.
“To minimise further inconvenience, a replacement aircraft will be deployed from London, and passengers are scheduled to depart this morning,” the airline stated.
