FG Declares Friday and Monday Public Holidays for Easter
The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebrations.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
According to the statement, the minister congratulated Christians in Nigeria and across the diaspora on the joyous occasion of Easter, urging Nigerians to reflect on the virtues associated with the season.
“The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated all Christians in Nigeria and in the diaspora on the occasion of Easter,” the statement read.

“He urged Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance, and love, as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
“He also called on citizens to remain committed to the values of tolerance and unity that strengthen the nation.
“Furthermore, he reiterated the government’s commitment to making decisions that will foster national rebirth, economic growth, and shared prosperity.”
The minister wished all Christians a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration.
