Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said he will make one last attempt at the presidency in the 2027 general election.
Atiku, who has been in the presidential race since 1992, made this known during an appearance on Prime Time on Arise Television on Wednesday.

“The 2027 election will be my final attempt,” he stated.
Responding to concerns about his age and repeated bids, and why Nigerians should consider him again, Atiku argued that the country’s main challenge is ineffective leadership. He said his background as a former Vice President and a past military governor gives him an edge over President Tinubu.
He stressed that leadership at the national level plays a critical role in shaping governance across states, noting that some states led by younger governors have struggled due to a lack of guidance from experienced leadership at the centre.
According to him, several states have underperformed because they are being managed by leaders who lack the necessary experience to deliver effective governance.
