The Federal Government has opened applications for its newly introduced consumer credit programme aimed at helping Nigerians acquire laptops, smartphones, tablets and other digital devices through flexible payment plans.
Known as the Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices (C.L.I.C.K.D.) Programme, the initiative is being implemented by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

The scheme was officially launched in Abuja on Tuesday by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, alongside the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CREDICORP, Uzoma Nwagba.
The programme enables eligible Nigerians to purchase digital devices on credit instead of making full payment upfront. The first phase prioritises laptops assembled locally as part of efforts to promote domestic manufacturing.

Interested applicants can apply by following these steps:

Before submitting the application, applicants must confirm that the information provided is accurate, agree to be contacted regarding their application and consent to CREDICORP and its partners using their details to determine eligibility.
Eligibility
At the moment, the programme is limited to a pilot phase involving 1,000 laptops reserved for participants in the Federal Government’s Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme.
According to CREDICORP Managing Director Uzoma Nwagba, the rollout began in Abuja, where 77 beneficiaries received laptops during the launch ceremony, while the remaining devices will be distributed to qualified 3MTT fellows across other states in phases.
The phased rollout mirrors CREDICORP’s earlier consumer credit initiative introduced in April 2024, which initially targeted federal civil servants before expanding to other groups.
Although the application portal also lists beneficiaries of programmes such as Andela Learning Community, Learn2Earn, ALX Africa, HNG Internship, AltSchool Africa and Genesys Tech Hub as eligible talent programmes, CREDICORP has so far publicly confirmed only 3MTT fellows for the current batch of 1,000 laptops.
The corporation is yet to announce key loan details, including applicable interest rates, repayment duration and any required initial deposit for beneficiaries under the C.L.I.C.K.D. scheme.
