Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has extended his congratulations to Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, following his overwhelming victory in the recently concluded governorship election.
In a goodwill message issued on Sunday in Osogbo, Adeleke described the outcome of the poll as a clear demonstration of the trust and confidence Ekiti residents have in Oyebanji’s administration.

According to the governor, the resounding mandate renewed by voters reflects widespread approval of the achievements recorded during Oyebanji’s first tenure and offers him another opportunity to consolidate on his developmental strides.
Adeleke stated that the election result underscores the people’s belief in Oyebanji’s ability to deliver greater progress for the state. He added that the people of Osun join Ekiti residents in celebrating the victory and look forward to another productive term under his leadership.
The message, signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, conveyed optimism that the governor’s second term would build on the accomplishments that characterised his initial years in office.
In a similar vein, the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) described Oyebanji’s return to office as evidence that Ekiti voters prefer continuity and have endorsed the administration’s performance.
The party, through a statement issued by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, maintained that the outcome further confirms the APC’s dominance and popularity across the South-West region.
According to the party, the election result demonstrates that the people of Ekiti regard the APC as a reliable and effective platform capable of delivering quality governance.
The APC also prayed for divine guidance for the governor as he continues efforts to drive development and improve the welfare of residents in the state.
The party further claimed that its commanding performance in the election has unsettled opposition elements in Osun, particularly the Accord Party, which it noted recorded a poor showing in the Ekiti contest.
Meanwhile, a prominent APC member in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, expressed confidence that the party’s success in Ekiti would be replicated during the forthcoming governorship election in Osun.
Congratulating Oyebanji on his victory, Oyintiloye described the election outcome as a strong endorsement of the governor’s achievements and leadership style.
The former member of the Osun State House of Assembly argued that the result reinforces the APC’s widespread acceptance among voters and predicted an even more convincing triumph for the party in the August 15 governorship election in Osun.
He also commended the APC National Working Committee under the leadership of National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and National Secretary, Sen. Ajibola Basiru, for providing direction and strengthening the party’s structures across the country.
Oyintiloye equally acknowledged the contributions of former Osun governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for sustaining and repositioning the party in the state since leaving office in 2022.
According to him, Oyetola has remained actively engaged with party members, stakeholders and support groups, helping to reinforce the APC’s grassroots structure and boost morale ahead of the upcoming poll.
He noted that the Ekiti election serves as proof that unity, commitment and effective grassroots mobilisation are critical ingredients for electoral victory, adding that the lesson should inspire APC members in Osun as they prepare for the next governorship race.
Oyebanji, who contested on the APC platform, was officially declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Sunday after securing 3,19,224 votes.
He defeated his closest challenger, Wole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 40,543 votes.
