The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has unveiled a new Intelligence Unit aimed at collecting security-related information from residents and forwarding it promptly to the appropriate security agencies.
The initiative is intended to boost cooperation between citizens and security operatives through the provision of useful intelligence.

Speaking during a press briefing at the LSSTF office in Alausa, Ikeja, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, announced that information from the public would be received through dedicated security tip lines — 0911 019 5555 and 0916 201 1179.
According to him, the development represents a major milestone in efforts to protect lives and property across Lagos State.
Ogunsan stressed that security remains a collective responsibility, noting that while security agencies continue to work hard to maintain peace and order, citizens also have an important role to play by providing reliable information.
He explained that the newly introduced tip lines would serve as safe and accessible channels for residents to report suspicious movements, threats, and other security concerns in real time.
He added that members of the public can also send photographs and video evidence relating to incidents within their communities, saying the initiative would make use of technology and public participation to improve intelligence gathering and aid informed decision-making by relevant authorities.
The LSSTF boss, however, clarified that the tip lines are not emergency response numbers but are strictly meant for intelligence collection, analysis, and strategic security planning.
He advised residents to continue using existing emergency channels whenever urgent intervention is required.
Ogunsan further emphasised the need for users to provide only genuine, accurate, and verifiable information, warning against the spread of false or misleading reports.
He noted that any deliberate misuse of the platform through fabricated information would not be tolerated and offenders would face legal consequences.
Reassuring residents, he stated that all credible reports received through the platform would be treated with utmost confidentiality and professionalism, while adequate measures had been put in place to protect the identities of informants.
Describing the project as a collaborative effort between government, security agencies, and the public, Ogunsan said the initiative would strengthen Lagos State’s security architecture and encourage collective vigilance.
“With this partnership, we can build a safer and more secure Lagos where citizens and authorities work together effectively,” he said.
The launch of the Intelligence Unit also signals LSSTF’s growing role in promoting intelligence-driven policing and strengthening operational support for security agencies in the state.
Other officials present at the unveiling included Director of Administration, LSSTF, Adegbola Lewis; Executive Assistant, Adaobi Nwankwo; and Head of the LSSTF Monitoring Team, Samson Israel Adeniran.
