Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, widely known as Yayi, has been unanimously adopted as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.
The declaration was made during the ongoing APC Strategic Caucus Meeting, which brought together key stakeholders, party leaders, and former governors for wide-ranging discussions on the party’s future direction in the state.

Speaking at the meeting, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun stated that the decision followed extensive consultations with former governors and top party leaders, culminating in a collective agreement reached in the interest of unity and progress.
“After thorough consultations with former governors and leaders of our great party, we have agreed that our governorship candidate for the next political dispensation in Ogun State is Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Yayi,” the governor announced.
According to party leaders, the consensus choice underscores the APC’s commitment to internal cohesion, continuity in governance, and strategic leadership ahead of the upcoming governorship election.
Stakeholders at the meeting also expressed strong confidence in Senator Adeola’s experience, leadership capacity, and ability to deliver impactful governance while building on the developmental achievements already recorded in Ogun State.
The APC in Ogun State further reaffirmed its unity and collective resolve to work toward electoral victory in the forthcoming polls.
